This work aims to invert the process of creating a painting: instead of preparing the canvas to start painting on it, the cloth is unravelled over and over again. The presentation of the work alludes –in the very absence of the threads that previously made up the cloth and held the canvases together– to the natural decay of material and the visualisation of time present. The time of creation becomes the element that dismantles the materiality of the pictorial structure, deconstructing its format and revealing the repeated interventions made on the now denuded base.
